Eco Luxe nature styling with a sprinkle of gold
I love photographing a fellow wedding vendor’s big day. Not only because they have a good understanding of how the day will flow but it’s exciting to see the show piece they create. Kate from Cakery Bakery did not disappoint with their Berwick Lodge Wedding.
A towering cake with fresh pink roses and topped with gold. It was the perfect match to the incredibly styled eco-luxe wedding theme.
Words from the bride
How did you meet?
We met through scuba diving, and as we fell in love with that we also fell in love with each other.
What was your overall theme, look & feel for the wedding?
We wanted to echo our surrounding, not just in the lodge but the beautiful winter woodlands that surround Berwick.
Why did you choose the location that you did for your wedding?
As soon as we drove up the drive to Berwick lodge, we just fall in love with the place. It’s like a secret hidden gem, full of beautiful finishes, wonderful glass chandeliers and cozy log fires, it was just the perfect place to hold a winter wedding.
When you look back on your wedding, what was your most favorite moment?
The whole bloody lot, it was just perfect.
It was great fun playing with the snow machine which really added to the photographs, giving a quirky and unusual look. I ended up getting completely covered in the snow foam at one point but it made everyone laugh, so I kept clicking.
Kate and Darren were so chilled and really took the time to enjoy their day and had fun with the photographs. We pushed each other to explore new ideas and ended up with so many amazing pictures.
Berwick Lodge remains one of my favourite wedding venues due to its quirky but elegant style. I can’t wait to return to Bristol’s hidden wedding venue gem.
