Farm themed wedding at Grittleton house, Wiltshire
Gail force winds nearly stopped me getting over the Severn Bridge en-route to Chloe’s for the bridal preparations.
But with a touch of wedding day luck the sun broke through the clouds and the ground was dry by the time I had arrived.
Throughout the morning preparations, Chloe’s four bridesmaids, dressed in gorgeous floor length turquoise gowns and soft white shawls, did a good job of keeping her calm. That is until she put on her dress, then the flood gates were well and truly opened. The tears were only heightened by the arrival of her father, who saw her for the first time in her lovely Maggie Sottero gown.
I had previously browsed the gardens of Grittleton House, but upon venturing inside I was blown away. Flock wallpaper adorned the high ceiling walls, columned arches, chandeliers, antiques and ornaments at every turn. The ceremony room was an old library, stocked to the brim with dusty volumes. James made use of the time to fit in a little light reading (or to busy himself and calm his nerves perhaps) whilst he waited for his bride.
Chloe and James met in work, and after a very romantic Cuban proposal settled in the beautiful surroundings of Grittleton House, Wiltshire after visiting once and knowing it was the perfect place for them. It doubles up as a school during term time and it was the brides father who suggested they take a look.
James’ family own a dairy farm, so it was fitting the pair decided on a farm theme with cow shaped name places and tractor cake topper. The blue, teal and white colour theme trickled through the day effortlessly, with men’s cravats, table settings, pretty blooms and frosting-topped cupcakes.
Chloe had also envisioned dancing the night away so had been fully prepared, investing in a rather lovely sparkly pair of Toms flats
It was such a happy and love filled day which was a pleasure to capture.
I love this sort of natural wedding photography which is a joy to be a part of.
The whole day was great from start to finish but to pick one moment would be when Chloe walked down the aisle and when we were married. The happiest moment of our lives.
